Our History

It started with his passion for communication. Nearly 25 years ago, Joseph Thomas, a graduate of the University of South Carolina’s Master electrical engineering program, and our current Chief Executive Officer, turned his knowledge, experience and love for technology into a viable business – A3 Communications. Upon founding the company, Joe continued to build A3 into the substantial business operation that it is today.

Only years after opening, our services offered expanded from data networking to advanced Ethernet networking and data security. Shortly after, we realized that the voice and data worlds were set to integrate so we became early adopters of VoIP, while still fulfilling traditional digital and analog voice solutions. In 2001, our fiber and cabling division was formed to provide total infrastructure services. In 2005, we launched the IP surveillance and access control division and quickly became market leaders. Today, we consider ourselves an all-inclusive communications and IT service provider able to fulfill every aspect of your technology infrastructure.

Still overlooking the company today, Joe named his son, Brian Thomas, as A3’s President in 2012. With our team as Vice President of Sales since 2006, Brian continues to grow the company in his new role, always making sure to keep his dad’s vision in mind.
